Ristorante Il Giurista

We had a late lunch only a few hours before coming here, so we arrived already pretty stuffed. Thankfully we were able to taste a few of the dishes here. They greeted us with a shot glass sized tasting of their carrot soup. We almost considered asking for a whole bowl of it. Instead we ordered the saufle appetizer. This was the best decision we made all day. Incredible. Next we ordered the cannelloni with white ragout sauce and the chickpea (ceci) soup. Both tasted amazing. We also had a glass of the house white wine, which was only €4 and very good, dry and fresh. Overall we wished we came with empty bellies so we could eat and try out more. If we are back in Perugia, this is where we will go for dinner.

Super umbrian menu. Recommended by Michelin Guide. Super quality of dishes and products. The food was delicious. Not big portions but delicate and researched food. We loved it. Elegant yet local atmosphere and super service. We had two primi piatti and shared a secondo. The Tartufo Gnocci and the Tortellini Ripieni di ciauscolo nostrano I.G.P e parmentier ai porri. The secondo was Coniglio nostrano ripieno in porchetta alla perugina con patate grigliate a little bit salty and not a lot of potatoes if you haven’t had something before the portion is too small but super tasty, grandma type of dish.

After seeing the picture of their dished we felt compelled to try Il Giurista. We were not disappointed. The food there is delicious, traditional but innovated by their great chef. We loved their Umbricelly in wild boar ragù and the Tagliatelli al tartufo. But the masterpiece was their Pecorino soufflé, so well done that almost tasted like an ice cream! Asbolutely recommended

This is really a place you have to go to if you are in Perugia, Italy. One of the most memorable and best meals I’ve had. We spent 2 days in Perugia and ate here on the first day. But it was so good we decided to make a reservation for our second day here as well. The appetisers that we ordered were splendid (tripe, chicken liver and the eggplant) and the truffle pasta was just amazing. We had the truffle gnocchi as well as the truffle taglioini. It was just so so good. The fragrance of the black summer truffle was just so aromatic and the taste of the creamy gnocchi and the truffle butter pasta was delicious. Very well priced dishes as well. The sliced truffle beef was very good as well, I recommend ordering it without the olive oil on top if you are not into the olive oil type of taste, it was still very tasty without it. We also tried the Pork Cheek with mashed potatoes that I unfortunately did not get a photo of but it was also very very good. Apart from food, the service was also very personalised. We had quite liked the tripe appetiser and gave our compliments to the chef. When we asked whether they could make a tripe pasta, they were very accommodating and it ended up tasting fantastic. The waiters were very cheerful and attentive. The restaurant itself is lovely as well with a very calming vibe and atmosphere. This is truly such a lovely restaurant and you should definitely come here if you’re in Perugia!

The service was good and consistent from the moment I walked in til I said goodbye. The servers were very attentive and quick. The food was consistently good from the bread to the wines and with reasonable prices. None of the ones we ordered disappoint. The pasta dishes were generously topped with exquisite tartufo and the rabbit was juicy and flavourful. The Tiramisu was heavenly it was gone in a few minutes. Highly recommend this restaurant and would love to come back again. Definitely a must-try when in Perugia.
